Last year I made these tiny photo books using iPhoto and printed by Mac. The motivation was Lucie's love of all things tiny, and the fact that she carried around The Nutshell Library for most of the day. I then decided to make them for other family members, and I think I ordered a total of 9 copies. If you've ever made a photo book, you'll know that it is very hard to choose just 20 photos of your beloved children, and I ended up with 37, so what was to be a tiny add-on gift for $3.99, turned into $17 each.
This year I'm committed to sticking to the number of photos included in the price advertised, and I'm also thinking of making them bigger, because while the tiny size is adorable, most of the recipients are grandparents and great grandparents, and it is probably difficult for them and most of their friends who they are showing the photos to see them very well.
I do like the non-fussy approach of a single photo without a caption, and I think I'll try to stick with this format. Do any of you have photo book sources you love, with simple classic styles, a decent price point, and of course good quality? Several people have mentioned blurb.com to me, but at first glance, it looks like I would be more likely to use those for a special keepsake album for my family, not one I distribute to 12 of my family members. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
