Just popping in before I head off to my kids' Halloween parties to show you an idea I came up with for the 1st grade goody bags in case anyone has some favors to make, or wants a small gift to give a child in exchange for all that loot they'll come home with Sunday night.
I added these small craft kits to the the goody bags, so in addition to these, there were the usual suspects-- bat ring, rubber bat (they're studying a bat unit right now), playdough, jelly bracelets, etc. I wanted to add some sort of activity rather than more trinkets, so I designed this "Design your own Ghoul Kit."
They include a few squares of wool felt, candy corn print fabric, buttons, ricrac, and clothespins.
I also made small books and suggested that they write the story of their ghoul, and included a tiny pencil. The labels (which aren't shown) had a few prompts, and included a list of the materials that one would need to complete the project (glue, scissors, markers). The books have a blank on the front, so the kid's can personalize them.
I didn't get a chance to photograph the finished project before they headed out the door this morning, but wanted to get this up in case it would help anyone.
This ideas could of course be applied to any theme, so would work for a birthday party, stocking stuffer, etc.
Hope your Halloween is great if I don't make it back to share our costumes before then!
