I'd love to say this I made this as part of Elsie Marley's Kid's Clothes Week Challenge, but the truth is that I made this about 3 1/2 years ago. I never really seem to coordinate my creative spurts with what is going on in greater blogland-- I've spent most of the first few weeks of school trying to catch up around the house, and I have to say, I still have a ways to go. This weekend- reclaim my overgrown garden, and possibly even purchase some fall flowers to cheer the place up a bit.
Some of you will remember that before Lucie was born I sewed this little smock as a decoration for her nursery. I said then that in about three years I would tire of her room and and rework would be necessary, and that by then, she would be able to wear the shirt. Well, it fits her now, and guess what-- it's about time for a little sprucing up of her room too.
The photos of the smock as nursery art can be found here and here.
(the smock pattern is from Ebay- McCall's #7629 c.1981)
