My husband brought me a "fall bouquet" from Trader Joe's last night, and when I went to arrange it this morning, I realized that a lot of the flowers didn't have much life left in them. Lucie and I went poking around the back yard and found some pink sedum, white anemones and plumes from a grass of some sort. (oh, along with a dead mouse that the cat apparently brought home)
We ended up getting a few arrangements by combining the fall flowers with what we had on hand. I would never have picked out flowers in these colors, but I like the way it turned out. I guess it's sort of like putting together an outfit or a room, when you put something new with something you already have, sometimes you get a surprising outcome.
The biggest arrangement is on the kitchen table, the one in the creamer is on the radiator next to my bed, and of course Lucie needed her own-- arranged entirely by herself-- to put on her radiator.

It's dark and chilly today. I've spent most of the day alone working in the yard, and now I'm physically tired (love that), have some beer chillin', and some firewood stacked by the fireplace. Hopefully my family will be home soon, maybe a movie and some popcorn is in order? Hope your evening is as cozy.
