sneak peak of my freshly painted kitchen. some of you will remember this shot of it a year ago.
It may be obvious to some of you that I've been having some problems recently with blog content. It's not that I have nothing to say, it's just that I've been grappling a bit with the goals and purpose of this blog, and my life for that matter, and I've been trying to bring the two more in line.
For those of us who've been blogging a long time (I'm coming up on 4 years any day now), we've seen this community and the content of blogs change quite a bit. For me, this started out as a way to connect with other women (primarily) who shared common interests with me. It then landed me a payed gig with a magazine (which later folded), and since that time, I've been floundering a bit in this space. Do I go back to just blogging about life with my family, my creative projects, and life in general, or do I start creating content specifically for the blog in an effort to make money for my family? This is the dilemma I've been struggling with for the last year or so.
At the beginning of the new year, I decided that I wanted to reduce the number of activities that I was involved in so that I could devote more time to those things that I really do value. This has resulted in some changes in my real life, and now this blog will reflect those changes as well. There are things that I've done in the past just for the sake of the blog, and I won't be doing those things anymore. From now on, this blog will be a reflection of what I am up to in real life, and hopefully those subjects will resonate with you, just as they did when we started down this path four years ago.
As always, thank you for stopping by here, even if just for a few moments. I'm going to be posting more regularly. I've got a lot to show you, I've been very busy.
