Computer Malfunction

Dsc_0002

Sorry I've been MIA, my Macbook died last Saturday, and I've been out of sorts ever since.  The lucky part is that my husband bought the extended warranty-- I would have said a polite "no thank you" to that, but now I'll be getting a new, bigger hard drive- yay!  I'll take a little data loss for that.

I've been very busy crafting, but can't share any of it just yet.  The new issue of Wondertime came out with my favorite project of mine to date.  Check it out here with my photos as well as my "boy" version here.  Today while Lucie was napping I was reading the magazine and I was like-- "aw, look, there's Elliot's footprint and Lucie's ultrasound-- wait!  That's my uterus in a magazine!"  Who woulda thought:)

I loved the article "Confessions of a Mommy Blogger," and I'm sure many of you would relate to it as well.  I can so relate to composing posts in my mind constantly, and also wonder how reading my blog changes how people "in real life" view me.

Also, I laughed so hard when I read the article about preschools, as they mentioned Waldorf Moms all wearing the same kind of clogs.  I'm definitely a clog-wearing Mama, so they have me pegged with that one.

OK, enough babbling.  I have a few smallish craft projects to show you soon, and my family room redecorating is making some progress, so I'll be back soon!

Can't wait to see the redo on the family room. I love your house (can you tell???). Can I have it?

Glad to hear the computer is on the mend. How funny about having your uterus in a magazine, that made me laugh for sure.

I ran into an acquaintance at Caitlin's science fair last week and I was asking various questions about what she'd been up to since I hadn't seen her in months. She then proceeded to tell me that she feels like she's all caught up on what I'm doing since she reads my blog! Definitely felt weird.

Can't wait to see the progress on the family room...I'm struggling with mine too.

oh, i've missed you!! but it sounds like much good has come from the bad (dead mac). look at that lucie. I thought elizabeth was looking huge, but then I see lucie!

i always love flipping through wondertime and seeing your name and projects.

can't wait to see more to come.
xo.

oh, funny. it's not just the you that you know, or even the you that blog people know, it's the you in a magazine. bloglife can be strange!

Hi- I love you crafty style- so I check your blog often but I'm not much of a (insert quote fingers here) commenter! But I had to ask where you got your great rug from this pic- it is just what I'm looking for- oh and the baby is cute too! hehe Thanks Erin

I haven't had the time to dig into the latest issue yet (I make quite an occasion of it), but I love your project! It is a much more elegant solution than the ol' shoebox, which was my method of choice, although I never managed to gather everything into the same box. Next time around, though, I'll already have a project in mind, so thanks!

Hi Courtney! I can't believe how big she's getting--and sooo cute! The picture reminds me of what's going on at our house right now. We got a new freezer for Christmas, actually the kids think we got a freezer BOX for Christmas, and we have had some of the most amazing box-play imaginable. Have fun with the new computer!

Yes, the project was lovely! And it would be a little freaky seeing your uterus in print.

Congratulations on being featured in Wondertime. Very cute project!

I really loved the latest Wondertime issue. Can't stop thinking about Catherine Newman's "Confessions of a Mommy Blogger" - so much truth!

very nice baby.

Hi Courntey, I just stumbled on your blog and it is just great. Your children are young like mine. I know all too well how *challenging* yet rewarding it can be to live life when you're holding a baby all day and also negotiating with a 'little big' person. Your photos and your point of view is great. Keep up the good work!
Jillian

Love the photos from the magazine! You're doing terrific work there; I'll have to look for a copy on the newsstand over here.

I smiled when I saw the baby and the box because my children first loved cardboard boxes as babies and even now, at 8 and 5, a cardboard box continues to be the very best of toys.

That's my kind of scrapbooking. Quirky and pretty quick. Plus if I scanned/photocopied it, then I could decoupage it to another clipboard to use at work or school. Thanks for the idea! :)

just saw the clipboard & LOVE it!

I've chosen you for the Excellent Blog Award (which is probably surprising because I never comment on your blog, but I do subscribe!) If you'd like to participate, check out my January 29th post: http://plentitude.blogspot.com/2008/01/thanks.html
