I finally put the buttons on the smock a few weeks ago. I was pretty nervous about it, but thankfully my sewing machine did most of the work. And I'm happy to say that I finally found a home for some butterflies in the nursery. You're probably all sick of these darn dictionary pages, but I always come back to their simplicity. I tried using some Liberty print butterflies from the infamous mobile, but they sort of screamed "Look at me!"- which was not at all what I was going for.
This is a super-cheap lamp from Ikea. I've been considering a Noguchi lamp (with no butterflies) for a while, but am sort of afraid Elliot would wreck it. I figure he would be able to tell the difference between a $150 paper light and an $8 paper light in an instant and he'd be drawn towards it like a mosquito. So, for now, Ikea it is.
I also attached a butterfly to the wall and one to the hanger. Coincidentally, this one has the definition of "metamorphosis" on it. How weird is that?
For those who have asked, in the next few days I'll post a full tour of the nursery with wider shots, and links to all of the projects I've done in there.
